Return to Senior League

We were delighted to see the return of senior football to our pathway last weekend. If you’d like to find out more contact forfarfarmingtoncommittee@gmail.com.

Forfar Farmington Women v Dryburgh

For the team’s first outing together experienced players, returning players & new players joined together for the newly formed SWFL Farmington Womens squad. We were eager to get going!

Due to the recent snow we were able to move the match onto the astro at Forfar Community Campus. The sun was beaming and the wind was with us in the first half.

Dryburgh scored an early goal but if anything this spurred everyone on. The team had some good spells, our keeper had some phenomenal saves but we just couldn’t take our chances. Dryburgh took their chances with the wind and with a bit of miscommunication on our side we leaked a few goals in the second half.

Coach Stuart O’Brien commented “The game ended with a 5-0 loss but without sounding cliche, I am proud and happy enough with the performance and we know what we need to work on in the next few weeks at training. We did gel together at times as a team but Dryburgh’s physique and presence made it difficult to make a breakthrough.

We play Westdyke Ladies Thistle away on Sunday.
