Season 2023- U16s

Our u14 squad had a brilliant first season at 11-a-side football in 2022, being pipped at the post by a point in the league, reaching the league cup semi final and getting to the quarter final stage of the Scottish Challenge Cup, losing 3-2 in extra time.

They now make the step up to u16 for 2023 and have bolstered their squad in defence, midfield and attack with four new signings, who we will introduce over the next two days.

The new players have trained well in the last few weeks and settled into the squad with three of them making their debuts last weekend in the first pre-season friendly v Aberdeen.

The squad face Grampian Girls this Saturday before playing Jeanfield then rounding off their pre-season fixtures v Hibs on 11th Feb. The competitive action then commences on 18th Feb. 💙⚽️

The club are also thrilled to welcome Eve Crosbie to our u16 squad for the 2023 season. Eve marked her debut with a goal in our pre-season victory over Aberdeen last weekend.

Coach Jeff Rioch commented:
“Eve played at the u16 level last year despite being young enough for the u14s and she has shown why so far in training – she’s a strong, athletic, composed defender who likes to pass the ball out from the back and we’re looking forward to working with her this season”

Welcome to Farmington Eve! 💙⚽️

The club are delighted to welcome Lola Robertson to our u16 squad for the 2023 season. Lola will make her first appearance in a pre-season friendly this weekend v Grampian Girls

Coach Jeff Rioch commented
” I watched Lola’s previous team three times last season and she impressed me in every game with her ability, athleticism and tackling, whether in a full back or midfield role and we’re very pleased that she has chosen Farmington to continue her development”

Welcome to Farmington Lola! 💙⚽️

Hannah Dishington

Our final new signing to our u16 squad for the upcoming season is Hannah Dishington, who returns to Farmington after a season away.

Coach Jeff Rioch commented :
” We are delighted to see Hannah return to the club and having played elsewhere at u16s last season she brings a wee bit of experience to the squad. Hannah has great pace, crossing ability and an eye for a goal and we’re really looking forward to seeing what she can achieve this year. It was great for her to score and get an assist in the first pre-season friendly”

Welcome back to Farmington Hannah! 💙⚽️

SWFL FF Women v Dyce FC

Sunday was our second game of the new BIFFA SWFL North season and our first home game as we entertained Dyce Women at Station Park.

It was a tough game against a side who were very fit and well organised. The first half was fairly even with both teams working very hard however we did well to make the most of our chances and went in at half time 4-2 ahead.

The second half was a much improved one from us and we enjoyed most of the possession, had very little to defend and had many chances on goal. We only managed to find the net on one occasion however due to missed opportunities and some great saves from the Dyce goalkeeper.

FT 5-2

Another great performance today, with a second win and a further 3 points on the board as we go top of the league, albeit early days.

Farmington Women -5 East Fife Development – 2

It was our first game of the new BIFFA SWFL North season yesterday and we started with a tricky away match in Fife. It’s never an easy game against a well organised and physical side like East Fife, but our senior team were outstanding today and carried their form and confidence on from last week’s friendly victory.

We could have scored more today, however, in the end we got exactly what we deserved and kicked off with a vital 3 points. Brilliant team performance from everyone!

FT: 2-5
