Goalscorer Cheryl Kilcoyne was over the moon to net just sixteen seconds into last Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Buchan.
The attacker scored her eighth goal of the season with Nicola Davidson, Danni McGinley and an own goal ensuring Farmington made it unbeaten in their first half of the season with nine wins and a draw.
22 year old Kilcoyne reckons everyone involved can be pleased with their performance as well as praising fellow striker Danni McGinley for the quickfire assist.
“I’m very delighted with the win today. I thought we started off well and competed in all areas. Everyone put in a shift and the result reflected that.”
She continued: “It was a great start for us and we linked up well. Danni put in a fantastic ball and I just had to make sure I got on the end of it.”
Farmington have now won nine of their opening ten Scottish Women’s Premier League Two fixtures, drawing the other and Kilcoyne spoke of her pride at the run, hoping it could continue.
“It’s been a fantastic unbeaten run and I’m sure it will continue. I am personally over the moon with our progress so far. Everyone on and off the park are 100% committed to the club and we have worked really hard to get where we are and we definitely deserve to be unbeaten.”
The attacker linked up with recent signing Danni McGinley once again after playing together in McGinley’s previous spell at Forfar with Kilcoyne excited to be in the same team once again.
“It’s fantastic to play with Danni again and I think we link up well together. We both know how the other plays which is definitely an advantage for us. It is great to have her back again.”
