SWPL1: Forfar Farmington 0 Glasgow City 3

Forfar Farmington fell to a 3-0 defeat to Glasgow City on Sunday in their penultimate home game of the 2016 season.

A double from Sarah Crilly either side of a Sam Kerr goal to seal all three points for City as the visitors looked to recover from their Champions League defeat on Thursday.

Captain Nicola Davidson replaced Jade McLaren in the only change from their defeat to Hibs a week prior.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Clare Shine made her way down the left, spraying the ball across the face of goal for Sarah Crilly to stab past McNicoll.

The pair combined again two minutes later, Crilly swinging a cross in for the Irish internationalist who could only head over.

Four minutes after the opener and City found the net again when Shine’s cut back found Sam Kerr and the midfielder fired home.

Amy Gallacher tried her luck with a long range effort in the 16th minute however the attacker saw her attempt deflected wide.

Shine fired over before Crilly had another effort saved as City attempted to extend their lead. At the other end Gallacher failed to threaten Gemma Fay shortly before the break.

City started the second half keen to grab their third and after Savannah McCarthy saw her shot diverted over Crilly netted her second of the afternoon in the 56th minute.  Brogan Hay made her way to the byline and her cross was knocked down by sub Kodie Hay for the striker to rifle her shot home.

The game seem to quieten down in terms of chances following this, with Farmington holding firm against a relentless City attack.

McCarthy forced a great close range save from McNicoll in the 73rd minute while Brogan Hay couldn’t test McNicoll from lost range minutes later.

Julia Scott couldn’t find the target from 25 yards with twelve minutes remaining and the last chance fell to City youngster Hannah Coakley; nodding past the post from a Ross cross.
