Last month saw the Under 13 Falcons travel down to Manchester for a fun filled weekend of football after some successful fundraising over the last few months. Setting off on an early Sunday morning, the girls went straight into a friendly against local club AFC Urmston Meadowside (Pumas); a well matched opposition with the Farmington girls winning 4-1. The girls enjoyed some downtime and some ten pin bowling at the Trafford Centre after a long day.

An early start on Monday saw the girls take in a guided stadium tour of the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ at Manchester United’s Old Trafford.  In the afternoon the side were at the Academy Stadium taking in a fantastic match between Manchester City and Doncaster Rovers Belles; the girls were delighted with the surprise of being mascots for the game and walking on to the pitch with the City players. The hosts came out on top with a comprehensive 6-0 victory, the game being a great experience for the girls and an insight into what could be achieved with a lot of hard work and determination.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend away and the girls were a credit to Forfar Farmington.
