It’s SSE Scottish Women’s Cup weekend and we travel to Forthbank Stadium for a noon kick off when we take on Glasgow City in the first semi final on Sunday.
This is our first appearance at this level since reaching the final in 2012 where we lost to Sunday’s opponents by one solitary goal.
Farmington go into this tie on the back of Sunday’s comfortable 7-1 win at Buchan meanwhile City defeated Rangers 2-0 on Sunday before their tough 3-0 loss in the Champions League to Kazakhstan’s BIIK Kazygurt in Shymkent.
Both sides have spent the majority of the cup campaign on the road with only one home tie between them in the six games played.
ROAD TO FORTHBANK
Second Round – Sunday 18th June
Raith Rovers 2 Forfar Farmington 5
Farmington manoeuvred their way past a tricky Raith Rovers outfit thanks to Kayleigh Brough and Julia Scott’s doubles.
Scott and Brough had the visitors ahead within 35 minute before Danni McGinley added a third just before half time. Kerri Dinnel pulled one back for the SWFL2 East side but Brough and Scott made it 5-1 with Tiegan Clark netting a second for Rovers from the spot late on.
Spartans 0 Glasgow City 5
City netted the same number of goals without reply as they swept past fellow SBSSWPL1 side Spartans at Ainslie Park.
They were four goals ahead at half time through former Farmington winger Abbi Grant, Sam Kerr, Jo Love and Noelle Murray while Grant added the fifth and final goal midway through the second half.
Third Round – 20th August
Forfar Farmington 7 Buchan 0
In an all SBSSWPL2 tie, Farmington romped past Buchan with ease, Julia Scott netting a hat-trick with a potential fourth deemed to be an own goal.
Lauren Sangster spilled a Scott corner into her own net early on before Scott made it 3-0 inside half an hour with two fantastic free kicks. Robyn Smith added a fourth with a long range effort and the scoring was completed with three goals inside eight second half minutes; Scott completing her hat trick alongside Alana Bruce and Laura Parsley’s finishes.
Hearts 0 Glasgow City 7
City scored the same amount of goals as Farmington for the second round in a row against SBSSWPL2 side Hearts.
Captain Leanne Ross netted twice for City while Abbi Grant, Joanne Paton, Brogan Hay, Noelle Murray and Hayley Lauder ensured City comfortably entered the quarter final stage.
Quarter Finals – 10th September
Cumbernauld Colts 1 Forfar Farmington 2
Farmington were given an unknown test against SWFL1 South side Cumbernauld Colts and after going behind, they overcame the potential shock to become the first side to enter the last four.
Sarah Wardlaw gave the Colts an early lead but Laura Parsley equalised before half time. There was a bizarre winner in the 53rd minute as Julia Scott’s corner was held by keeper Angela McGann but she fell backwards after landing awkwardly and landed over the goalline.
Jeanfield Swifts 0 Glasgow City 6
City defeated Jeanfield by six goals despite struggling to get going against a tricky Swifts outfit. Arsenal loanee Katie McCabe netted her first goals for the club after Noelle Murray put City ahead before Abbi Grant added a fourth on the stroke of half time.
Jo Love netted the fifth in the 47th minute but the final goal fell to McCabe who completed her hat trick from 30 yards.

LAST SCOTTISH CUP MEETING
We last met Glasgow City in the 2012 final at Airdrieonians’ Excelsior Stadium in a tight clash that City came out on top of with a 1-0 win to lift the trophy.
Danica Dalziel nodded home the game’s only goal past Player of the Match Catherine Fitzsimmons in the first half on a cold November afternoon.
Current Farmington players Julia Scott, Nicola Davidson and Alana Bruce started for Mark Nisbet’s side while Gemma Collier was named on the bench. Caroline Heron was also in the squad while Megan McCarthy had recently signed for Farmington. City winger Abbi Grant also started that afternoon for Forfar in her first season at the club.

From Forfar, follow the A90 through Dundee towards Perth. When crossing the Friarton Bridge, exit at Junction 10 and take the first exit at the Broxden Roundabout on to the A9 Southbound and continue following this road.
When approaching the Keir Roundabout, take the second exit for Bridge of Allan. Proceed through Bridge of Allan and continue to follow the road onto Alloa Road towards Manor Powis. At this roundabout, take the third exit signposted for Stirling.
This road will take you to the Muirton Roundabout where you should take the third exit towards the Sports Complex and Springkerse. Continue along this road until the Springkerse roundabout and take the third exit for the Sports Village.
After exiting at this roundabout, you will have arrived at Forthbank Stadium. There is plenty of parking at either side of the stadium.
ENTRANCE TO THE STADIUM
Fans will be seated in the West Stand, which is regularly the home stand. There are turnstiles at either side of the main entrance and entrance for this game is £5 for adults with concessions entering for £2.
